We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the website or to a customer account if we believe it is being used for fraud, abuse, spam, or misuse.
Products and product information
Morag and Hamish sells children’s books, stationary, gifts and related items.
We try to make sure that product descriptions, images, prices, and availability are accurate. However, product images are for guidance and may be representative only.
Colours may appear differently depending on the device, screen settings, photography, lighting, print processes, and the difference between RGB and CMYK colour reproduction.
We may correct errors, update product information, or remove products from sale at any time.
Where relevant, customers should read the product description carefully before ordering, especially for signed, personalised, or special items.
Children’s products and safety
Our products are mainly children’s books, stationery, gifts, and related items. They are generally intended to be bought by adults for children.
Unless clearly stated on the product page, products are not age-restricted.
If any product has specific age guidance, safety information, small parts, choking hazards, or other warnings, this will be stated on the product page where applicable.
Customers are responsible for checking that a product is suitable for the intended recipient before ordering.
Signed, personalised, and special items
Customers may be able to order signed books or peronalised items.
Signed books may include:
- generic signed copies
- copies signed with a custom message
- copies personalised to a named person
Personalised, custom-message, made-to-order, or specially requested items are usually made or prepared after the order is placed.
Personalised or specially requested items may take up to one month to dispatch. Where an item has a longer dispatch time, we will aim to state this on the product page.
Personalised, custom-message, made-to-order, or specially requested items cannot usually be returned for change-of-mind reasons unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Prices
All prices are shown in pounds sterling, GBP.
Morag and Hamish is not VAT registered, so product prices should not be treated as VAT-inclusive prices.
Delivery costs are shown separately and will be displayed before you place your order. UK online sellers must provide customers with key information before purchase, including total price, delivery costs, delivery arrangements, and cancellation rights.
We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted, except where there has been an obvious pricing error.
Promotions, discounts, and bundle deals
We may offer discount codes, bundle deals, or promotional offers from time to time.
Unless stated otherwise:
- discount codes are limited to one per order
- promotions cannot be applied retrospectively to previous orders
- promotions are subject to availability
- promotions may be changed, suspended, or ended at any time
If a promotion has specific terms, those terms will apply in addition to these Terms and Conditions.
Payment
Payment is taken at the time the order is placed.
We accept payment through the payment methods shown at checkout. These may include PayPal and WooPayments-supported payment methods, such as card payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, where available.
Payment providers may have their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for payment-provider websites or services, but we will handle your order in accordance with these Terms once payment has been accepted.
Placing an order
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy products in your basket.
A contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email, unless we later notify you that we cannot accept the order.
You are responsible for checking that your order details are correct before submitting your order, including:
- products ordered
- quantities
- delivery address
- contact details
- any personalisation or custom message

We cannot guarantee that changes can be made after an order has been placed, especially if it has already been processed or dispatched.
When we may refuse or cancel an order
We may refuse, cancel, or refund an order where:
- the item is out of stock
- payment fails or is reversed
- customer details are incomplete or inaccurate
- the delivery address is not serviceable
- there is an obvious pricing, stock, or listing error
- fraud, abuse, or misuse is suspected
- we are unable to fulfil the order for another reasonable reason
If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order, we will contact you and offer a refund or an alternative where appropriate.
If we cancel an order after payments has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled item or order.
Delivery
Delivery is handled in accordance with our Shipping and Delivery page.

Orders are usually sent using Royal Mail Signed For or an equivalent service.
Orders are usually dispatched within 1-2 working days. UK standard delivery usually takes 2-4 working days after dispatch.
Signed, personalised, or special items may take longer.
Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by postal disruption, customs checks, weather, strikes, public holidays, busy periods, or other circumstances outside our control.
Risk in the good passes to the customer when the goods are delivered to the customer or to someone nominated by the customer.
International orders
We accept international orders.
International delivery times may vary depending on the destination country, customs processing, and local postal services.
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, handling fees, or local charges applied by their country or delivery provider.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs checks or local import processes. However, this does not affect your statutory rights where applcable.
If you are a consumer living outside the UK, you may have manatory consumer rights under the laws of your country or region.
Cancelations, refunds, and returns
Cancellations, refunds, and returns are handled in accordance with our Refunds and Returns Policy.
For change-of-mind returns:
- customers must tell us within 14 days of recieving the goods
- customers then have another 14 days to return the goods
- customers are responsible for return postage
- goods should be returned unused, in their original condition, and in the original packaging where possible
Faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not-as-described items are handled separately and may qualify for repair, replacement, refund, or another remedy depending on the circumstances. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives consumers specific remedies for goods that do not meet the required standards, including the short-term right to reject in certain cases.
Personalised, custom-message, made-to-order, or specially requested items cannot usually be returned for change-of-mind reasons unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Digital products
Morag and Hamish may sell digital products, including ebooks, PDFs, printable downloads, audio files, digital resources, or other downloadable content.
Digital products are provided in the format described on the relevant product page. Customers are responsible for checking that a digital product is suitable for their device, software, and intended use before purchasing.
Access to digital products may be provided by download link, email, customer account, or another method stated at checkout or on the product page.
Digital product links must not be shared, resold, copied, uploaded elsewhere, or used for commercial purposes unless we clearly give permission.
Because digital products cannot be physically returned, different cancellation rules apply.
By purchasing a digital product and choosing to download, access, or receive it immediately, you agree that digital supply may begin before the end of the usual 14-day cancellation period. You also acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the digital product has been supplied, downloaded, accessed, or made available to you.

We will investigate the issue and, where appropriate, provide a replacement file, restore access, fix the problem, or provide a refund.

Customer accounts
Customers may be able to place orders using guest checkout or by creating a customer account.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
You must not allow anyone else to use your account without permission.
We may suspend or close accounts used for fraud, abuse, spam, or misuse.

Reviews, comments, and user content
The website does not currently allow product reviews, public comments, or customer file uploads.
If reviews, comments, testimonials, messages, or other user content are added in future, we may remove content that is:
- abusive
- unlawful
- spammy
- misleading
- irrelevant
- offensive
- infringing someone else’s rights
- otherwise inappropriate
Customers must not submit fake, misleading, unlawful, or harmful content.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the Morag and Hamish name, logo, illustrations, text, photos, product images, website design, and website content belong to Morag & Hamish or are used with permission.
Customers may share links or product images on social media for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You must not copy, reproduce, sell, adapt, distribute, or commercially exploit website content without written permission from Morag & Hamish.
